Earlier this year I had the pleasure of being involved in a romantic boho inspired styled photo shoot, created by the talented team from The Event Edit to showcase their venue dressing and props styling services
Boho Inspired Wedding
The theme for the day was a whimsical vibe with an electric mix of traditional and boho style that would appeal to a fashion conscious, edgy yet feminine bride with an industrial backdrop of bare bricks walls which the Fairfield Social Club is renowned for being an uber cool and trendy Manchester city centre wedding venue
Its all in the colour
The colour scheme was a beautiful mix of warm peach and blush tones which had been perfectly incorporated into the floral bouquet created by The Flower Decorative
The incredible lace boho inspired dresses supplied by Along Came Eve Bridal Shop were absolutely stunning and full of intricate detail
The showcase piece for me with the moongate ceremony arch which had been dressed with delicate bespoke array of roses and pampas grass and Happily Ever After neon sign provided by The Event Edit
Inspiration for the design
One of the great things I love about doing photo shoots is, as a designer we are given free rein over how we interpret the mood board, for me I started off with the colour theme, I wanted to incorporate soft blush tones, so decided on a marble effect for the middle tier and then keeping the feminine theme incorporated a gold tier and the top tier was adorned with an open fantasy style rose which again was dressed with a few pampas grass heads to bring the design together
Next I worked on the overall look of the cake, I wanted something a little different from the standard three tier cakes so for this reason I decided that the middle tier to be extra tall, I felt it created an alternative look which compliments the boho vibe completely, what do you think?
Best part
Of course, I’m bias, but my absolute favouirte shot of the day, was my cake sat on its very own peacock chair with the stunning pampas grass moongate arch along with the neon sign “Happily Ever After” set against the brick walls of the venue, for me, every cake should be showcased like that!
I would like to give a big shout out to all the other North West suppliers who were involved in this shoot, please have a look at their Instagram accounts for more inspiration
